Her research focuses on Youth justice, examining anti-social behavior, gender-specific interventions for women in the criminal justice system, and the intersection of law/penal policy with community-based practices. She has extensively studied women involved in sex work and the sociopolitical dimensions of criminal justice reform.
The trends in her recent publications emphasize narrative methods in youth justice, resilience theory applications, and compliance challenges in community rehabilitation. These works bridge empirical research with policy analysis in contemporary criminal justice frameworks.
Robinson's career spans probation practice (since 1993), youth justice management, and academic leadership in criminological education. She has contributed to training programs, edited seminal texts on transforming offender identities, and collaborated on multi-institutional reports evaluating probation services and community support initiatives.
