Dr. Michelle Rogerson is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology and Policing at the University of Huddersfield's School of Human and Health Sciences, where she also serves as Associate Director at the Applied Criminology and Policing Centre. She specializes in situational crime prevention, fear of crime and quality of life, hate crime, and offender management.
Her research examines the interactions between crime, fear of crime, and community quality of life, with particular focus on how environmental design influences criminal behavior and public perceptions of safety. Dr. Rogerson has expertise in statistical analysis of police recorded crime data and large-scale surveys like the Crime Survey for England and Wales.
Recent publications investigate mental health perceptions in criminal justice contexts, aggression patterns in mental health facilities, and the effectiveness of hate crime reporting mechanisms. Her work demonstrates the importance of environmental factors in crime prevention and management.
