Katy Sindall

Katy Sindall is a Lecturer in Criminology at the University of Southampton's Department of Sociology, Social Policy and Criminology. She holds a BSc in Sociology and Social Research, MSc in Social Research Methods, and a PhD in quantitative criminology (funded by the ESRC). Her research focuses on public perceptions of policing, crime victimisation (especially among children), and advanced quantitative methods. She has collaborated on ESRC-funded projects like the National Centre for Research Methods (NCRM) and contributed to modules such as CRIM1005 and SOCI2020.

Research Interests: Public confidence in policing, police legitimacy, fear of crime, child victimisation, quantitative methodology, and policy evaluation. Her work employs advanced statistical techniques and secondary datasets like the Crime Survey for England and Wales.
