Jonathan Allen is a Postgraduate Research Student at the University of Surrey, affiliated with the Department of Sociology in the Faculty of Arts, Business and Social Sciences. His current roles include Associate Tutor (2025) and Graduate Teaching Assistant (2022–2025), alongside serving as Sociology PGR Representative (2023–2025). He holds a BSc (Hons) in Criminology from the University of Surrey (2020) and an MSc in Social Research Methods from University College London (2021).
His research focuses on predictive analytics in policing, particularly exploring the integration of predictive policing technologies and their implications for police roles and decision-making processes. This work is featured on the College of Policing’s research map. He has co-authored studies on body-worn cameras (BWCs) in university campus security and the organizational dynamics of campus policing.
Teaching responsibilities include tutoring on modules such as Policing and the Police and previously covering topics like crime theory, criminal justice systems, and psychology of criminal behavior. His scholarly contributions emphasize technology’s role in policing and its societal impacts.
