Dr. Francesca Menichelli is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology at the University of Surrey's Department of Sociology. She holds a PhD in Urban Studies from Università di Milano-Bicocca and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Her research focuses on urban governance, mechanisms of social control, policing strategies, and the intersection of public health with criminal justice policies. She has led projects on community safety partnerships, vulnerability governance in austerity England, and the implementation of body-worn cameras on university campuses.
