Loren E. Parton is a Research Associate at the University of Sheffield within the School of Sociological Studies, Politics and International Relations. She joined the Department of Sociological Studies in 2023 to work on an ESRC-funded project titled 'Understanding criminality in the private rented sector and co-producing solutions' (2023-2026). Her role involves collaboration with Dr. Xavier L’Hoiry and institutions including the University of York, University of Northumbria, and a West Yorkshire-based housing charity.

Research Interests
Loren’s research focuses on narrative criminology, gender-based violence, and criminality in the private rented sector. Her PhD thesis examined narrative criminology through cross-national offender and general population samples. Current work explores domestic cannabis cultivation in the UK housing market and image-based sexual abuse through systematic/scoping reviews.
Scientific Contributions
Her publications address sexual revictimization attitudes (2021) and domestic cannabis cultivation-crime intersections (2025). Research methodologies include experimental studies, systematic reviews, and fieldwork with policing/housing stakeholders. She is affiliated with the Sheffield University Policing Research Group (SUPRG) and Centre for Criminological Research.
