Vicki J. Conway is a Distinguished Lecturer in the Department of Music at the University of Texas at Tyler. She has been a faculty member since 1984 and was honored as part of the Sheila Paige Keyboard Wellness Seminar in 2009. Her roles include organist at Greggton United Methodist Church and active performer in duo piano recitals with Mary Tidwell.
Education: Master of Music in Piano Performance (Baylor University); Bachelor of Music in Piano and Organ Performance, Summa Cum Laude (Stephen F. Austin State University), with additional graduate study at the University of Oklahoma under Jane Magrath.
Research focuses on the intersection of music performance and developmental fitness, including workshops on gross motor skills, cognitive processing, and performance anxiety mitigation. She initiated the Developmental Fitness program in 1998 and has presented at major conferences like TMEA and TMTA State Conventions.
Awards: Lenvill Martin Outstanding Music Graduate Award (Stephen F. Austin State University).
Community engagement includes leadership in Protestant church music, educational outreach to schools, and collaborations with music educators' associations.
