Dr. Vesna Pešić is a Principal Research Fellow at the Department of Neurobiology, Institute for Biological Research 'Siniša Stanković', a National Institute of the Republic of Serbia affiliated with the University of Belgrade.
Education:
- Ph.D., Molecular Biology and Physiology (2001-2009)
- M.S., Molecular Biology and Physiology (1998-2001)
- B.S., Molecular Biology and Physiology (1992-1998)
Research Interests focus on behavioral neurosciences and neurobiology of behavior, with emphasis on pharmacological and social factors in neurodevelopment and neurodegenerative disorders. Key subfields include learning and memory, emotions and sociability, psychostimulation, maladaptive behavior and addiction, adolescence, and rodent models of neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative diseases.
Current Projects include membership in the Net4Brain COST Action (CA22103) and participation in the VIMAD (Vascular Impairment as Mediator of Alzheimer's Disease) project. She also contributes to international collaborations like the Joint Chinese-Serbian Laboratory for natural products and drug discovery.
