Veronica Jatko Kraft serves as Assistant Professor and Director of Studies for VFU (Practicum Education) at Stockholm University's Department of Subject Didactics within the Faculty of Science. Her work focuses on the intersection of academic teacher training and practical classroom experience.
Her research interests center on teacher education, particularly in mathematics, examining how student teachers develop professional competence during practicum placements. She investigates the formation of teacher identity and how university studies interact with school-based experiences to shape future educators.
Dr. Kraft leads the TRACE research project (Tracking Mathematics Teacher Education in Practice), which aims to deepen understanding of how aspiring and newly graduated teachers learn, participate in school practices, and develop their professional identities. Her work is organized through two research groups: LUGN (Teacher Education Group) focusing on mathematics teacher education across all programs, and the Professional Development at VFU group examining how practicum experiences shape teacher development.
She maintains an active role in shaping teacher education curriculum and pedagogy at Stockholm University, with particular attention to the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical teaching experience.
