معرفی
Dr. Veronica Jarocki is a Research Fellow at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), affiliated with the Australian Institute for Microbiology & Infection (AIMI) and the Faculty of Science. She holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and has prior academic roles as a Research Associate at UTS's ithree institute. Her research focuses on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) using genomic and molecular approaches, with an emphasis on One Health principles to address AMR across human, animal, and environmental systems.
Her work spans bacterial pathogens like Escherichia coli, Mycoplasma species, and environmental isolates, examining their genomic diversity, virulence mechanisms, and resistance profiles. Key contributions include analyzing AMR in wastewater ecosystems, tracking plasmid-mediated resistance genes, and investigating the role of surface proteins in pathogen-host interactions. She leads projects under grants such as the SAAFE Cooperative Research Centre (CRC), focusing on AMR management in agriculture and the environment. Collaborations include international conferences and partnerships with institutions like the ithree institute.
Jarocki’s research integrates genomic epidemiology, bioinformatics, and experimental microbiology, with notable publications in Microbial Genomics, Applied and Environmental Microbiology, and Scientific Reports. Her work bridges laboratory studies and real-world applications, aiming to inform AMR surveillance and public health policy.
