معرفی
Mozammel Hoque is a Postdoctoral Research Associate and Casual Academic at the Australian Institute for Microbiology & Infection (AIMI) within the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). His research focuses on bacterial adaptation mechanisms, particularly how pathogenic bacteria survive predation by protozoa and environmental challenges. He employs both experimental (wet lab) and computational (bioinformatics, Python, R) methods to study microbial systems.
Education:
- PhD in Microbiology, University of Technology Sydney (2018–2022)
- MSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Dhaka (Bangladesh)
- BSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Dhaka (Bangladesh)
Research Interests:
- Mechanisms of bacterial survival against protozoan predators and environmental stressors
- Biofilm formation and antibiotic resistance
- Genetic and molecular basis of pathogen virulence
- Application of omics data and bioinformatics tools for microbial analysis
Key Research Contributions:
- Investigated protozoan predation's role in bacterial genetic diversity and pathogenicity
- Analyzed Vibrio cholerae's adaptation to amoeba hosts and environmental reservoirs
- Explored the impact of plasma-activated water on bacterial biofilms
Grants & Collaborations:
- Senior Research Officer, International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Dhaka (2016–2018)
- Research Officer roles in Bangladesh (2012–2016)
