Verity Pacey is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean (Curriculum and Learning) in the Department of Health Sciences at Macquarie University's Faculty of Medicine, Health & Human Sciences. She specializes in physiotherapy, particularly in managing rare and complex pediatric conditions like Connective Tissue Dysplasias, joint hypermobility, and chronic pain. Her work emphasizes improving physical activity, function, and quality of life for affected individuals. She holds a Senior Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy and has been recognized for teaching excellence, including the Australian Award for University Teaching (2021).
Education: PhD in Physiotherapy (University of Sydney, 2014), Grad Cert Sports Physiotherapy (La Trobe University, 2005), and BAppSci in Physiotherapy (University of Sydney, 1999).
Research Interests: Her expertise lies in pediatric musculoskeletal disorders, hypermobility syndromes, and rehabilitation strategies. She leads projects addressing chronic pain management in children, curriculum design for work readiness in physiotherapy graduates, and telehealth innovations in clinical education.
Key Projects: Includes the Children with Lower Limb Pain (CLLiP) initiative and studies on work readiness in allied health graduates. She collaborates internationally on guidelines for conditions like arthrogryposis and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.
