András Varró is a renowned Hungarian pharmacologist and professor at the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy, University of Szeged. With a career spanning over four decades, he has held significant academic roles including Chairman of his department (2001-2019) and Vice Rector for Science and Innovation (2011-2014). His research focuses on cardiac electrophysiology and pharmacology, particularly the mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmias and drug actions.

Scientific Contributions include 300+ English-language publications (8,500+ citations, H-index=54), 8 patent applications for cardioactive drugs, and leadership roles in EU-FP6/7 grants and Hungarian national funding projects (OTKA, NKHT). He has supervised over 10 PhD students and 5 habilitations.
