معرفی
Anna Weinzinger is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Faculty of Life Sciences. Her research focuses on ion channel biophysics, particularly potassium (Kir) and sodium (Nav) channels, with applications in cardiac electrophysiology and drug discovery. She explores mechanisms of channel gating, allosteric modulation, and disease-related mutations, leveraging computational methods like molecular dynamics simulations. Notable contributions include drug repurposing screens for rare diseases and studies on channel-pharmacological interactions.
- Research Interests: Ion channel regulation, cardiac arrhythmia mechanisms, molecular pharmacology, and computational biophysics.
- Key Projects:
- Novel approaches to investigate G-protein coupled inward rectifier K+ channels (2021–2024).
- PROSTAGLANDINES for DEND syndrome (2020–2023).
- Sulfonylharnstoffe research (2015–2019).
Her work bridges basic science and clinical applications, addressing therapeutic targets for arrhythmias and rare genetic disorders. She has received awards including the Gertrud Pleskot Award (2012) and Kardinal Innitzer Förderpreis (2016). Collaborations span drug development, channel modeling, and ion transport mechanisms.
