Naranjan S. Dhalla is a Professor at the University of Manitoba, affiliated with the Max Rady College of Medicine and the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences at St. Boniface Hospital. His research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of heart failure, ischemic heart disease, and diabetic cardiomyopathy, particularly involving oxidative stress, calcium overload, and signal transduction.

Dr. Dhalla has pioneered studies on cardiomyocyte Ca2+-handling and subcellular remodelling, leading to novel drug targets for cardiac dysfunction. He has trained over 166 scientists and authored 664+ peer-reviewed papers with 31,886+ citations.
