Valérie Marcil

Valérie Marcil is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nutrition at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Montreal, and a researcher at the CHU Sainte-Justine Research Center. Her work bridges clinical research and nutrigenomics, focusing on metabolic and inflammatory processes in pediatric cancers, inflammatory bowel diseases, and adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.

Research Interests:
Dr. Marcil investigates cardiometabolic complications in childhood cancer survivors, exploring how epigenetics, intestinal microbiota, and oxidative stress contribute to late effects. She also examines the gut-brain-bone axis in scoliosis and develops personalized nutritional therapies for disease prevention.

Recent Article Trends: Her 2023-2024 publications emphasize lipid metabolism, pediatric oncology, and metabolic syndrome in cancer survivors. Key subfields include HDL dysfunction, early nutritional interventions, and omega-3 fatty acid applications.
