Valerie Ward

Valerie Ward is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School and a Senior Vice President of Pediatric Health Equity Strategies and Chief Health Equity Officer at Boston Children's Hospital. She holds a leadership role as a Pediatric Radiologist in the Department of Radiology at Boston Children's Hospital.

Education: B.A. from Harvard University (1989), M.D. from Yale University School of Medicine (1993), M.P.H., residency at Brigham & Women's Hospital (1998), and a Pediatric Radiology fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital (2000).

Her research focuses on health equity, pediatric imaging, and addressing systemic disparities through policy and institutional interventions. Notable themes in her publications include geospatial analysis of healthcare access, racial/ethnic data collection in critical care, and frameworks to combat microaggressions in academic medical settings.
