معرفی
Edward Y. Lee, MD, MPH, is an Associate Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School and serves as Chief of the Thoracic Imaging Division and Director of MRI at Boston Children's Hospital. His clinical and research expertise focuses on pediatric thoracic imaging, where he pioneers non-invasive diagnostic techniques using multidetector CT (MDCT) and MRI to evaluate congenital anomalies, tracheobronchomalacia, and pulmonary embolism. Dr. Lee's innovations have established new standards in pediatric radiology, including dynamic MDCT protocols for airway assessment and hyperpolarized gas MRI for lung visualization.
Education:
- A.B. & M.D. (University of Chicago, 1994/1999)
- M.P.H. (Harvard University, 1998)
- Radiology Residency (Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology)
- Pediatric Radiology Fellowship (Boston Children's Hospital, 2006)
Research Interests: Dr. Lee specializes in advancing imaging modalities for pediatric thoracic disorders. His work spans MDCT applications for congenital vascular anomalies, MRI optimization for lung and airway visualization, and evidence-based guidelines for lower respiratory infections, interstitial lung disease, and pulmonary embolism. He leads grants from the Society for Pediatric Radiology (SPR), GE Health Care, and the Society of Thoracic Radiology to develop motion-robust MRI techniques and hyperpolarized gas imaging.
Awards & Honors:
- RSNA Eyler Editorial Fellowship (2010)
- Caffey’s Awards: Best Clinical Research & Best Educational Exhibit (SPR)
- Assistant Editor: American Journal of Roentgenology (Pediatrics)
- Editorial Board Member for 9 radiology journals
Leadership & Grants: As Division Chief and MRI Director, Dr. Lee oversees thoracic imaging protocols and collaborates with pulmonary medicine teams. His research is funded by SPR, GERRAF, and STR. He mentors trainees and has delivered invited lectures in over 20 countries, covering topics like congenital lung anomalies and mediastinal vascular disorders.
