Valentine Robert

Valentine Robert is a Researcher (MER 1) in the Cinema History and Aesthetics Section at the University of Lausanne (UNIL), appointed since 2020. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from UNIL (2006) and a doctoral degree in Cinema Studies (2016). Her career includes roles as a graduate assistant, lecturer, FNS collaborator, cultural mediator, and visiting researcher at the University of Montreal (2012–2013). She previously coordinated the Doctoral Program "Vision Devices: Cinema, Photography and Other Media" (2016–2020).

Research Interests: Interdisciplinary studies bridging cinema, art, theater, and literature. Specializes in tableaux vivants, films on art, Christian iconography, still/moving image relations, and visual perception. Collaborates with museums like the Cinémathèque suisse, Musée d'Orsay, and the Fondation de L'Hermitage.

Professional Roles: Vice-president of Domitor (early cinema research association) and Deputy Director of the Faculty's Theater Studies Center. Teaches courses integrating museum partnerships, such as a semester course with the Fondation de L'Hermitage.
