معرفی
Valentina DE RENZI is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical, Computer and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. She holds affiliations with the SESAMO Laboratory and teaches advanced physics courses including "Physics Laboratory II" and "Spectroscopy". Her research focuses on nanomaterials characterization, particularly graphene and molecular magnets, employing advanced spectroscopic techniques like photoemission and electron energy-loss spectroscopy. Research areas include nanoribbon edge structures, interfacial magnetism, and energy materials for solar cells. She has contributed to over 50 peer-reviewed articles since 1993, with recent work emphasizing graphene functionalization, molecular spintronics, and educational methods for physics concepts. Teaching innovations include interdisciplinary friction studies using bio-inspired materials. Professional activities include ORCID: 0000-0001-6458-9246.
Research interests span condensed matter physics, nanotechnology, and surface science. Key projects involve graphene-based systems, single-molecule magnets, and spectroscopic analysis of materials interfaces. Educational contributions emphasize hands-on experimentation with nanostructured materials, linking microscopic phenomena to macroscopic properties. Grants and collaborations include studies on nanoribbon synthesis, optoelectronic device integration, and advanced deposition techniques for energy applications.
Laboratory activities include the SESAMO Lab where she investigates material properties at atomic scales. Current work explores hydrogenation effects in graphene, potassium-doped electronic structures, and Au-intercalated magnetic systems. Teaching emphasizes experimental rigor with laboratory modules on electrical measurement techniques and spectroscopic interpretation.
