معرفی
Marco Beleggia is a Full Professor in the Department of Physical, Computer and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. His work focuses on advanced electron microscopy techniques, particularly electron holography and phase plate applications for nanoscale materials characterization. He is affiliated with the former Physics campus in Modena, where he maintains his laboratory and office in Physics Building 17.
Professor Beleggia's research spans multiple areas including electron microscopy of magnetic materials, semiconductor device characterization, nanomaterials analysis, and electron beam lithography. His work combines theoretical modeling with experimental approaches to study phenomena at the nanoscale. He has made significant contributions to understanding electron-specimen interactions, particularly in relation to charging effects, phase contrast imaging, and in situ characterization of materials.
His recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on advancing electron holography techniques for studying magnetic nanoparticles, semiconductor devices, and liquid environments. The research shows a clear progression toward more complex in situ characterization methods that allow real-time observation of dynamic processes at the nanoscale. His work bridges fundamental physics with practical applications in materials science and nanotechnology.
Professor Beleggia teaches undergraduate and graduate courses including Physics A for Mathematics students and the specialized Laboratory of Electron Microscopy and Holography for Physics Master's students. His teaching emphasizes both theoretical foundations and hands-on experimental techniques in advanced microscopy.
His laboratory work involves sophisticated electron microscopy setups for characterizing magnetic properties, semiconductor junctions, and nanoscale materials. The research group appears to collaborate extensively with international partners, as evidenced by the multinational authorship on many publications. Current projects include developing new methodologies for electron holography in gaseous and liquid environments, studying magnetic nanoparticle assemblies, and advancing electron beam patterning techniques.
