Utz Weitzel

Utz Weitzel is a Full Professor of Experimental Finance at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Research Fellow at the Tinbergen Institute, and holds a professorship in Experimental and Behavioral Finance at Radboud University. He previously held roles including Professor of Finance at Utrecht University and Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute of Economics. His academic journey includes a PhD from Humboldt-University Berlin and post-doctoral research at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

His research focuses on behavioral/experimental finance, corporate finance, complex systems, and metascience. Key contributions include studies on risk perception among financial professionals, bubbles in financial markets, and non-reproducibility in financial research.
