Ute Hörner

Ute Hörner has been Professor of Art and Media at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle since 1999. She holds degrees in Sculpture (Stuttgart State Academy of Art, 1983–1989) and Media Art (Academy of Media Arts Cologne, 1993–1996). In 1997, she co-founded the interdisciplinary laboratory XObject Space in Düsseldorf, dedicated to experimental new media projects.

Research Focus

Her practice explores intersections of technology, public space, and cultural discourse through media art, video installations, and contemporary sculpture, with emphasis on participatory and site-specific works. Key themes include digital culture, artistic experimentation, and socio-technological interfaces.
