Professor Una Macleod is a Professor of Primary Care Medicine at the Hull York Medical School, University of Hull. She leads research on cancer and early diagnosis, particularly focusing on improving healthcare access and reducing health inequalities. Her work has contributed to national policy development and she currently holds grants from Yorkshire Cancer Research and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). Before joining Hull York in 2010, she trained in medicine in Glasgow, serving as a Senior Lecturer in General Practice and working part-time as a General Practitioner (GP). She served as Dean of Hull York Medical School from 2017 to 2024. Her research spans cancer screening, palliative care, and healthcare delivery, with a strong emphasis on primary care and patient-centered interventions.
