Professor Umesh Kadam is a clinical epidemiologist and health services researcher at the University of Exeter's School of Health and Community Sciences, where he also practices as a GP. His career has been supported by prestigious personal fellowships from the MRC, NIHR, and Royal Society, culminating in a Fellowship by Distinction from the UK Faculty of Public Health.

Professor Kadam pioneered multimorbidity research in the UK since 2001, focusing on population-based patient outcomes in musculoskeletal aging, cardiometabolic disease, and cardio-oncology. His work integrates clinical epidemiology, pharmaco-epidemiology, and AI applications for predictive modeling in healthcare systems, addressing conflicts in managing patients with multiple chronic conditions under policy and cost constraints.
