John Dennis

Dr John Dennis is an Associate Professor of Health Data Science and Wellcome Trust Fellow at the University of Exeter Medical School, working within the Clinical Diabetes Group and Department of Clinical and Biomedical Sciences. His research develops precision medicine approaches for type 2 diabetes treatment using advanced data science and statistical methodologies applied to electronic health records and clinical trials.

His research focuses on precision treatment selection in type 2 diabetes through clinical prediction models, triangulation of evidence from observational and trial datasets, and strengthening inference from routine clinical databases. This interdisciplinary work bridges data science, statistics, epidemiology, pharmacology, and health services research to optimize individualized drug therapy.
