Ulrich Reimkasten is a German artist and academic formerly affiliated with Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle (BURG). As a Professor in the Faculty of Art from 1996–2018, his career spanned textile design, public art commissions, and cross-cultural collaborations. He studied at the University for Industrial Design Halle and the Academy of Arts in Berlin (East). His work integrates textile arts with socio-cultural themes, inspired by anthropological fieldwork among the Tarahumara people in Mexico. Active in institutional roles, he co-founded Kunst und Form (1990) and served on the supervisory board of the State Tapestry and Textile Factory Halle since 1992. Retiring in 2018, he continues to exhibit extensively, with upcoming shows including 'ZUKÜNFTE – Material und Design von Morgen' (2025) and collaborations with the New Theater Halle.
