Ulrich Kaiser is a Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Zurich's Department of Business Administration. He holds additional affiliations at Copenhagen Business School (10% professorship), ZEW Mannheim, IZA Bonn, and others. Born in Germany in 1971, he earned a Diplom-Volkswirt (Master's) and PhD in Economics from the University of Konstanz. His research focuses on innovation economics, entrepreneurship, and business strategy, emphasizing empirical analysis. He has held roles at the University of Southern Denmark and conducted postdoctoral work at Harvard University.
Key research interests include gender equality in entrepreneurship, digital human capital, multinational corporation strategies, and pharmaceutical pricing policies. He has supervised numerous PhD and postdoctoral researchers, many of whom now hold academic or industry roles globally. His work has been funded by Swiss National Science Foundation grants (e.g., CHF 765,000 for mental health and innovation studies) and the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
