Uday Karmarkar

Uday Karmarkar is a Professor at UCLA Anderson School of Management, holding the Los Angeles Times Chair in Technology and Strategy since 1994. He is also a UCLA Distinguished Professor in Decisions, Operations and Technology Management, which he describes as "one of the best in the world." His career spans faculty roles at the University of Chicago, University of Rochester's Simon School, and UCLA.

His publications highlight global technology adoption trends through the Business and Information Technologies (BIT) project, which he founded and directs. Key themes include service industrialization, collaborative service contracting, experiential service design, and the impact of information chains on competition. Recent articles address banking competition strategies, multi-echelon supply chain dynamics, and value co-production frameworks.
