Dr. Tyrone Berger is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Monash University, with expertise in Intellectual Property (IP) Law and Technology Law. He holds a PhD in Law from Monash University (awarded the 2019 Mollie Holman Medal), a Juris Doctor from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), and Bachelor’s degrees in Arts and Commerce from the University of Sydney.
His research focuses on IP & Sustainability, Technical Standards, and IP Office Policy. He has published extensively on design law and trade marks, including the 2023 book Australian Design Law and Practice (Thomson Reuters). His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
Dr. Berger has served as a visiting researcher at Queen Mary University of London (2023) and contributed to institutional governance as a member of the Academic Progress Committee, Centre for Commercial Law and Regulatory Studies (CLARS), and the Digital Law Group. He teaches courses on patents, trade marks, and commercial designations at Monash University.
