Tyler Whisnand serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate School of Graphic Design at the School of Visual Arts. He teaches three graduate courses: Writing for Brand (GBDS-512-01), Graduate Project Writing (GMGX-604-01), and Graduate Seminar 3 (GMGX-605-04).
Professor Whisnand brings exceptional industry experience to his academic role, having worked in diverse environments across the globe including a 19th-century cathedral in Amsterdam, a Medieval villa in Treviso, a former ice house in Portland, skyscrapers in New York and Hong Kong, and Apple's facilities in Cupertino. His professional journey includes being a partner at KesselsKramer, editor for COLORS magazine, creative director at Wieden+Kennedy, and Executive Creative Director at Apple where he founded the innovative Orchard creative communications program.
His research and professional interests span:

Professor Whisnand is the author of several books including '101 things to do©', '2 Kilo of KK', and 'Helpful Communication', reflecting his philosophy of practical, actionable design thinking. His current work focuses on leading his own creative consultancy while sharing his extensive industry knowledge with graduate students at SVA.
