Tyler Ring is a Special Lecturer at the University of Akron, affiliated with the School of Dance, Theatre, and Arts Administration. A native of Muncie, Indiana, he holds a BFA in Dance Performance from Ball State University (summa cum laude) and has studied at institutions including the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.
His professional career includes performances with GroundWorks DanceTheater (2017–2019), where he also served as Interim Education Outreach Director, designing curricula for inner-city elementary schools. He has choreographed works such as The Corrected Path (2023, CSU Dance Concert) and And Now, I See (2023, University of Akron). Tyler has taught as an Adjunct Professor at Cleveland State University and collaborates with local dance studios in Northeast Ohio, focusing on contemporary dance and community engagement.
His creative work emphasizes original choreography and interdisciplinary performance, with a commitment to education and accessibility in the arts.
