- Master of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania under composition mentors Ned Rorem and George Crumb
Peters' professional work centers on innovative orchestral leadership, characterized by:
- Conducting over three dozen world premieres and contemporary works
- Pioneering cross-genre collaborations with rock artists including Blind Pilot, Jon Anderson (Yes), and Trey Anastasio (Phish)
- Creating YOSA's award-winning Classic Albums Live series
