Emelyne M. Bingham is the Principal Senior Lecturer of Music Theory and Cognition at Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music, where she has served since 1986. She specializes in music theory and orchestral performance, with extensive leadership roles in conducting and youth music education. Her affiliations include Artistic Director of the Young Texas Artists Competition and former Music Director of the Nashville Youth Orchestra Program (1986-1996) and Columbus (OH) Women's Orchestra (1998-2008).
Education: B.S. from Tennessee Technological University and M.M. from Indiana University. Her conducting career includes engagements with prestigious ensembles such as the Nashville Symphony Orchestra, Buffalo Philharmonic, and the State Orchestra of the Hermitage (Russia).
