Rachel Miller is an Adjunct Artist Teacher of Harp at Vanderbilt University Blair School of Music. She is an award-winning harpist known for orchestral engagements with major ensembles including the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and Nashville Symphony Orchestra. Her solo performances include works by Ravel, Debussy, and Mozart with groups like the Louisville Orchestra Chamber Musicians and Binghamton Philharmonic.
Education: Bachelor of Music from Michigan State University, Master of Music and Artist Diploma from University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). Her teachers include Susan Knapp Thomas, Patricia Masri-Fletcher, and Sarah Bullen.
Research interests focus on harp performance and pedagogy, with active participation in orchestral collaborations and solo projects. She has performed with celebrities like Andrea Bocelli and Lindsey Stirling, and contributed to film/TV/game soundtracks.
Awards highlight her solo excellence, including national harp society competitions. Teaching emphasizes inclusivity across ages/levels in her private studio. Recent orchestral positions include Interim Principal Harp with Louisville Orchestra (2022-2023) and Principal Harp with Kalamazoo Symphony (2018-2024).
