Tron Omland is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics, University of Oslo, and holds an adjunct position at the Norwegian National Security Authority (NSM). His research focuses on operator algebras, functional analysis, and their applications to quantum information theory, cryptography, and algebraic number theory. He leads the QOMBINE project (2023–2026) on quantum-combined systems funded by the Research Council of Norway and previously held a postdoctoral fellowship (2015–2018).
Research Interests:
Functional analysis, C*-dynamical systems, crossed products, group theory, algebraic number theory, combinatorics, cryptography, and quantum information theory. Recent work explores connections between operator algebras and quantum information, including quantum metric structures and rigidity phenomena in C*-algebras.
Grants & Projects:
- QOMBINE: Quantum information and mathematical physics (2023–2026)
- Postdoctoral fellowship: Research Council of Norway (2015–2018)
Publications: Over 30 peer-reviewed articles in top journals like Advances in Mathematics, Journal of Functional Analysis, and International Journal of Mathematics. Recent work emphasizes C*-algebra structure, quantum metrics, and applications to braid group representations.
