Eric Christophe Bedos is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Oslo, affiliated with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. His research focuses on Operator Algebras, particularly C*-algebras and von Neumann algebras, with additional interests in Harmonic Analysis, Linear Algebra, Quantum Information Theory, and Quantum Computing. He holds a permanent academic position and has been active in research and teaching since at least the early 2000s.
Bedos has contributed extensively to Operator Algebras through collaborations with researchers such as Roberto Conti, Tron Omland, and John Quigg. His work spans theoretical developments in C*-dynamical systems, crossed products, and noncommutative geometry. Teaching roles include advanced functional analysis, linear algebra, and specialized courses in operator algebras.
His research group is part of the Operator Algebras cluster at UiO, and he participates in projects like the QOMBINE initiative (Mathematics for quantum computation and many-body theory). Bedos’ publications reflect a strong emphasis on algebraic structures, representation theory, and applications of functional analysis to quantum systems.
