Trang Nguyen is an Associate Professor of Law at Temple University's Beasley School of Law, with affiliations at New York University School of Law's U.S.-Asia Law Institute and as a Stephen M. Kellen Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations (2023–2028). She previously held roles as the inaugural John N. Hazard Fellow in Comparative and International Law at NYU Law and a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley’s Center for the Study of Law and Society.
Her education includes a J.D. from NYU School of Law (Edward Cahn Award recipient) and a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Bates College (Maine Civic Award recipient). Before academia, she clerked on the Maine Supreme Judicial Court and practiced corporate law in Silicon Valley.
Nguyen’s research focuses on business law, contracts, transnational law, and international law. Her work examines global supply chain governance, corporate social responsibility, and legal frameworks in emerging markets. Key publications include analyses of multinational corporate influence in 'Global Company Towns' and supply chain power dynamics in 'Hidden Power in Global Supply Chains.'
Her awards include the ComplianceNet 2025 Outstanding Junior Scholar Paper Award. Nguyen’s interdisciplinary approach bridges legal scholarship with practical governance challenges, particularly in authoritarian and transitional states.
