Dr. Traci L. Stevens is a Professor in the Biology Department at Randolph-Macon College, where she has been a faculty member since 2004. She served as Department Chair from 2014-2016 and Associate Chair until 2022, teaching core courses including Principles of Molecular Biology, Genetics, and Human Genetics.
Her educational background includes:
- PhD in Molecular Genetics, Washington University in St. Louis (1998)
- BS in Biology and Chemistry, University of Northern Iowa (1993, summa cum laude)
Dr. Stevens' research investigates cellular migration signals critical to embryonic development and cancer progression. Her laboratory has engaged over 30 undergraduate students, two high school biology teachers, and nine high school students in hands-on research, with multiple national conference presentations. Coursework in her Genetics class directly contributes to this ongoing work.
