Tracey Taylor, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Foundational Medical Studies at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine (OUWB), where she teaches microbiology and infectious diseases to medical students. She has served as Assistant Dean for Diversity & Inclusion since August 2019 and previously held the position of Vice Chair in her department from January 2018 to August 2019.

- Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology, University of Western Ontario, London, Canada
Dr. Taylor's research focuses on two primary areas: medical education and microbiology/pathogenesis. She investigates innovative teaching methods such as online learning modules for microbiology labs and medical student peer assessment. Her biomedical research examines infections like MRSA in marginalized populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness, and the quality of life among polio survivors.
Dr. Taylor is nationally recognized in her field. She was appointed to the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners' National Faculty in Foundational Biomedical Sciences (Microbiology and Immunology) in 2014. She is an active member of the International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE) and the American Society for Microbiology, where she contributes to the Subcommittee on the Status of Historically Excluded Groups, aligning with her leadership in diversity and inclusion.
She previously served as Assistant and then Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Microbiology at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences (KCU), teaching osteopathic medical students before joining OUWB in August 2014.
Her leadership in diversity, medical education scholarship, and commitment to health equity for underserved populations highlights her multifaceted contributions to academic medicine.
