Tracey Bonfield, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Department of Genetics and Genome Sciences at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, with cross-appointments as Assistant Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Pathology. She directs the Master's of Science in Regenerative Medicine & Entrepreneurship (RGME) program at the National Center for Regenerative Medicine.
- Education: PhD in Immunopathology and MS in Experimental Pathology from Case Western Reserve University; BS in Chemistry and Biology from John Carroll University.
Research Interests focus on chronic lung inflammation in atopic diseases and infections. Key areas include:
- Macrophage activation and inflammation control
- Mesenchymal stem cell mechanisms
- Hematopoietic correction in cystic fibrosis
- Translational models for asthma and anaphylaxis
Scientific Contributions include over 53 publications, 5 book chapters, and leadership in preclinical modeling. Her work spans:
- 2020-2022: Cystic fibrosis immunology, lipid metabolism in CFTR function
- 2012-2017: Asthma heterogeneity, stem cell therapy for pediatric diseases
