Tove Engan Paulsby

Tove Engan Paulsby is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health and Nursing at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), under the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. Her research focuses on intensive care nursing, patient experiences, and nursing education during crises like the COVID-19 pandemic.

• Education: Master’s thesis (2015) on leadership as a tool for employee competence development.

Her work explores factors promoting survival willpower in long-term ICU patients, the impact of teacher support on nursing students during pandemics, and innovative practice guidance models like SVIP. Recent publications emphasize qualitative insights into patient resilience, family integration, and health professional collaboration.

She teaches advanced nursing courses (SYT3530–SYT3537) and actively participates in clinical outreach, presenting findings at seminars and conferences across Norway. Her research often involves interdisciplinary partnerships with institutions like St. Olavs Hospital and Helse Nord-Trøndelag.
