Eivind Ness-Jensen

Eivind Ness-Jensen is an Associate Professor and Head of HUNT5 at the HUNT Research Centre, affiliated with the Department of Public Health and Nursing at NTNU’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. He leads the HUNT celiac disease project, funded by the Research Council of Norway and Helse Midt-Norge. His work focuses on epidemiological and clinical studies of gastrointestinal diseases, including celiac disease, gastroesophageal reflux, inflammatory bowel disease, and gastrointestinal cancers. He holds clinical roles as a specialist in internal medicine and gastroenterology at Levanger Hospital and teaches medical students at NTNU/St. Olavs Hospital.

Research Interests: His research integrates population health data from the HUNT Study and Nordic health registries, emphasizing early detection, prevention, and clinical management of gastrointestinal disorders. Key projects include celiac disease screening, GERD-related cancer risks, and bariatric surgery outcomes. He collaborates internationally, including with Karolinska Institutet and Nordic registries.
