Tony Irwin

Tony Irwin is a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Nuclear Physics at the Australian National University (ANU), within the Research School of Physics and Engineering. He holds dual roles as Technical Director of SMR Nuclear Technology Pty Ltd and Chair of Engineers Australia Sydney Division’s Nuclear Engineering Panel. With over three decades of experience in the nuclear sector, he has worked with British Energy in the UK, managed nuclear fuel strategies at ANSTO, and led the commissioning and operation of ANSTO’s OPAL research reactor. He currently serves as a consultant and is the principal lecturer for ANU’s Master of Nuclear Science Course modules on Reactor and Fuel Cycle systems.
