Dr. Tony Bai is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Queen's University School of Medicine. He holds a MD from the University of Ottawa and completed his internal medicine residency at Queen’s University, followed by an infectious diseases fellowship and an MSc in Health Research Methodology at McMaster University. His research focuses on optimizing antibiotic therapy for bacterial infections like Staphylococcus aureus bacteraemia and pneumonia, emphasizing non-inferiority trial analysis and antimicrobial stewardship.
Dr. Bai received the 2022 New Investigator Award from the Association of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Canada. He collaborates with the Translational Institute of Medicine (TIME) at Queen’s University and the McMaster Infectious Diseases Fellow Research Group. His work addresses antibiotic effectiveness, clinical trial methodologies, and outcomes in immunocompromised patients. Dr. Bai’s publications span topics from Clostridioides difficile infection treatment to cardiovascular risks of antibiotics, reflecting his broad expertise in infectious disease management and evidence-based practices.
