Tom van der Poll is a Full Professor of Medicine and Chair of the Department of Medicine at Amsterdam University Medical Centers (Amsterdam UMC). He holds affiliations with the University of Amsterdam and leads translational research on sepsis and pneumonia immunology. His career includes a postdoctoral fellowship at Cornell University Medical College (1993–1995) and clinical training in infectious diseases at Harbor View Medical Center (2000).
