Tom Sanders is a Professor of Photography at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), serving since 2019. He holds an M.F.A. in art/photography from San José State University and a B.F.A. from California Polytechnic State University. His work spans commercial photography for industries like healthcare and finance, alongside documentary projects focusing on WWII veterans and cultural narratives.
Key achievements include the 2010 Nonfiction Book of the Year award for *The Last Good War: The Faces and Voices of WWII*, recognition as a 'Photographer to Watch' (2009), and the 2006 Cal Poly Photographer of the Year honor. His exhibitions include the widespread *Faces and Voices of WWII* series displayed across 20+ locations nationwide.
Teaching responsibilities at SCAD encompass courses from foundational to advanced photography. Beyond academia, he owns Senior Living Photography and Tom Sanders Photography and Film, specializing in commercial and documentary work.
