Tom Parr is an Associate Professor in Political Theory at the University of Warwick's Department of Politics and International Studies. He joined the university in 2019 after serving as a Lecturer in Political Theory at the University of Essex. His research focuses on contemporary political philosophy, particularly the intersection of politics, economics, and ethics, with an emphasis on labor markets, automation, and social justice. Parr is Editor-in-Chief of Law, Ethics and Philosophy and has held visiting positions at the University of Graz, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and Princeton University. His work includes two major books: Introducing Political Philosophy: A Policy-Driven Approach (Oxford University Press, 2021) and Empowering Workers in an Age of Automation (Oxford University Press, 2025). During the 2024-25 academic year, he is on research leave. Parr supervises doctoral theses in areas such as economic justice, artificial intelligence, gender pay gaps, feminist economic analysis, and the morality of public shaming.
