Tom Fenchel is a Danish Professor of Marine Biology at the University of Copenhagen since 1987, previously holding professorships in Zoology and Ecology at the University of Aarhus (1970–1987) and assistant/associate professorships at the University of Copenhagen (1965–1970). His career spans fundamental research in microbial ecology, evolutionary biology, and marine sciences, with notable contributions like "Fenchel's Law" linking animal physiology to ecological patterns.
