Tom Burkhardt

Tom Burkhardt is a Lecturer in Visual Arts at the State University of New York at Purchase, part of the School of Art+Design. He has taught part-time at SUNY Purchase since 2007 and maintains an active career as a visual artist.

• Residencies: Yaddo Foundation (2019), Pepper House, Kochi, India (2020)
• Exhibitions: Regularly featured at NYC galleries (George Adams Gallery, Tibor De Nagy Gallery, Pierogi, Caren Golden Fine Art) and internationally at the Kochi Muziris Biennale (2016) and CMCA in Maine (2018)

His research interests focus on contemporary painting, interdisciplinary art practices, and installation art. Notable works include the installation piece Studio Flood (2016) and solo exhibitions at George Adams Gallery (2022). He combines academic teaching with active studio practice and international residencies.
